Board Certified Plastic Surgeon Dr. Miguel Delgado, M.D. not only specializes in gynecomastia surgery but also specializes in the production of fine wine. Dr. Delgado’s attention to detail has won him recognition at San Francisco Chronicle’s Wine Competition, awarding him DOUBLE GOLD medals for his entries!

Largest Wine Competition in the United States

The Chronicle’s Wine Competition is one of San Francisco Bay Area’s favorite events. The public is encouraged to attend; tickets include wine tasting along with food pairing. It is the largest competition in the United States for American wines. There were more than 7,000 entries representing 28 states.

The Delgado family acquired a Sonoma winery over 10 years ago and renamed it the Delgado Family Vineyards. The wine at that time was good but not good enough for perfectionist, Dr. Delgado. Years of diligent work paid off for the Delgado’s, in this year’s competition, their 2014 Chardonnay and their 2014 Pinot Noir both won Double Gold medals!

Additionally, Wine Enthusiast Magazine rated the Chardonnay 92 points and the Pinot Noir 90 points, which means outstanding!!

The point system for rating wines is as follows:
• 95-100= Classic
• 90-94= Outstanding
• 85-89= Very good
• 80-84= Good
• 75-79= Mediocre
• 50-74= Not recommended
